Presenter View: Notes Without the Audience Seeing

Notes, timer, and next-slide preview for you — clean slides for them. Setup for one screen or two.

  1. 1. Enable Presenter View with two displays

Slide Show → check Use Presenter View. Laptop shows notes, timer, and next slide; projector shows clean slides. Rehearse the display swap before the meeting, not during.

  2. 2. Write real speaker notes, not scripts

Notes pane: 3 bullets per slide max — the point, the number, the transition. Full scripts get read aloud; bullets get spoken naturally.

  3. 3. Presenting on one screen or Teams?

Share the slideshow window only (not full screen) and keep Presenter View on your side. Teams audiences see slides; you keep notes and timer privately.

Presenter View: Notes Without the Audience Seeing — When to Call a Pro

  • Investor or client decks needing design polish, not just tips.
  • Conference-room AV where presenting always fights the hardware.
  • Recorded presentations with editing and captions.
