iPhone Won't Back Up to iCloud? Fix It Tonight

'iPhone Not Backed Up' warnings and failed overnight backups — storage, Wi-Fi, and the settings that unstick it.

  1. 1. Make room: it's almost always storage

Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage. The next backup needs free space equal to the backup size. Trim old device backups, large message attachments, and app data you don't need — or step up to iCloud+ 50GB for a dollar.

  2. 2. Plug in, lock, and join Wi-Fi overnight

iCloud backup needs power + locked screen + Wi-Fi simultaneously. Plug into a real charger (not a weak car USB), join office Wi-Fi, lock the screen, and leave it. Daytime manual backups fight you; overnight ones just work.

  3. 3. Toggle iCloud Backup off and on if it's stuck

Settings → your name → iCloud Backup → toggle off, restart the phone, toggle on, tap Back Up Now. This clears the stuck snapshot state without deleting anything already backed up.
